I learned this week that Kansas City, Missouri, the city of fountains, has more fountains than any other city except for Rome, Italy. On Labor Day, I hope to tour the downtown area and see some of the most unique fountains. The one pictured above is in Grandview.
I love the sound of the rushing water, and on a day like today, at 99 degrees, the spray from the fountain felt pretty good!

To God Be the Glory
Genesis 1:7-8 God's Word
I am so thrilled that my granddaughters are going to Christian school this year. The one in high school told me that she has never liked history, but now it is her favorite subject. Her teacher uses the Bible as well as the history book. She asked me to read the book of Daniel with her.
I like the saying that history is HIS story!

Wonderful Sight
I visited the International House of Prayer this week in Kansas City. It was about 6 a.m. Monday morning. The building seats almost 1,000 people and it was FULL of mostly young adults, praying for the situations in the middle east. When I got home, I thought back about that sight. Hundreds of young people gathering early in the morning to pray and worship God...in the heart of America...Awesome sight!

Here is one of my favorite worship leaders here: Justin Rizzo.

Praying for Egypt
I had the awesome privilege of hearing some pastors from Egypt speak at a gathering here. Even though they were sad for the violence and loss of life in Egypt, they brought a message of great hope. They told about thousands who are giving their lives to Jesus Christ in the midst of suffering. They told of persecuted Christians becoming even bolder in sharing the love of the Savior.
Everyone in the congregation joined hands in prayer and prayed that the Word of God will continue to go forth in power in that whole region.
As I was praying early this morning, I ran across a link I had saved to a post at
from one year ago. What a prophetic and uplifting word for the times in which we live!

Keeps Me Singing As I Go
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God
while I have any being.
May my meditation be sweet to Him;
as for me, I will rejoice in the Lord.
Psalm 104:33-34
Feasting on the riches of his grace,
resting' neath his sheltering wing,
always looking on his smiling face,
that is why I shout and sing.
resting' neath his sheltering wing,
always looking on his smiling face,
that is why I shout and sing.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
sweetest name I know,
fills my every longing,
keeps me singing as I go.
sweetest name I know,
fills my every longing,
keeps me singing as I go.
