I learned this week that Kansas City, Missouri, the city of fountains, has more fountains than any other city except for Rome, Italy. On Labor Day, I hope to tour the downtown area and see some of the most unique fountains. The one pictured above is in Grandview.
I love the sound of the rushing water, and on a day like today, at 99 degrees, the spray from the fountain felt pretty good!

To God Be the Glory
Genesis 1:7-8 God's Word
I am so thrilled that my granddaughters are going to Christian school this year. The one in high school told me that she has never liked history, but now it is her favorite subject. Her teacher uses the Bible as well as the history book. She asked me to read the book of Daniel with her.
I like the saying that history is HIS story!

Wonderful Sight
I visited the International House of Prayer this week in Kansas City. It was about 6 a.m. Monday morning. The building seats almost 1,000 people and it was FULL of mostly young adults, praying for the situations in the middle east. When I got home, I thought back about that sight. Hundreds of young people gathering early in the morning to pray and worship God...in the heart of America...Awesome sight!

Here is one of my favorite worship leaders here: Justin Rizzo.

Praying for Egypt
I had the awesome privilege of hearing some pastors from Egypt speak at a gathering here. Even though they were sad for the violence and loss of life in Egypt, they brought a message of great hope. They told about thousands who are giving their lives to Jesus Christ in the midst of suffering. They told of persecuted Christians becoming even bolder in sharing the love of the Savior.
Everyone in the congregation joined hands in prayer and prayed that the Word of God will continue to go forth in power in that whole region.
As I was praying early this morning, I ran across a link I had saved to a post at
from one year ago. What a prophetic and uplifting word for the times in which we live!

Keeps Me Singing As I Go
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God
while I have any being.
May my meditation be sweet to Him;
as for me, I will rejoice in the Lord.
Psalm 104:33-34
Feasting on the riches of his grace,
resting' neath his sheltering wing,
always looking on his smiling face,
that is why I shout and sing.

that is why I shout and sing.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
sweetest name I know,
fills my every longing,
keeps me singing as I go.
sweetest name I know,
fills my every longing,
keeps me singing as I go.

Path of Peace
Skillful and godly Wisdom
is more precious than rubies;
and nothing you can wish for
is to be compared to her.
Length of days is in her right hand,
and in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are highways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
Proverbs 3:15-17 Amplified

Suffering
I cannot comprehend all the sad situations that are headline news right now. I pray for Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, and so many places where there is war and suffering.
How do we pray for peace in the region, when there is no end to the conflict?
The Bible says, "Jesus is our Peace."
Many on both sides are turning to Jesus but there will not be peace on earth until He comes back.
He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.
Ephesians 2:14-17

Carried On Eagle's Wings
credit
God carried you on eagle's wings and brought you to Himself.
based on Exodus 19:4
But those who wait for the Lord
[who expect, look for, and hope in Him]
shall change and renew their strength and power;
they shall lift their wings and mount up
close to God
as eagles [mount up to the sun];
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
Isaiah 40:31 Amplified
Eagles soar up to 10,000 feet - much higher than most birds.
When their enemies look for them,
they are looking into the dazzling light of the sun.
Father God,
May we draw so close to you that our enemies are blinded by Your glory!
God carried you on eagle's wings and brought you to Himself.

My son Cameron and I attended a gathering this weekend where Dutch Sheets was the speaker. His text was Isaiah 40:31. As believers in Christ, we can be encouraged that in spite of the taunts of the enemy, the people of God will be victorious. We will rise on the wings of eagles.

I Will
Our Father God says:
"I will never leave you nor forsake you!" Deuteronomy 31:8
I will be your counselor and friend!
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Psalm 32:8
I will always be thinking of you!
"I will not forget you." Isaiah 49:15
I will forgive you!
I will always love you!
"This is how God showed his love among us:
He sent his one and only Son into the world
that we might live through him." 1 John 4:9

Light and Life
The way of the righteous
is like the first gleam of dawn,
is like the first gleam of dawn,
which shines ever brighter
until the full light of day.
until the full light of day.
Proverbs 4:18
My son was telling me about hearing missionaries who serve in a
nation that is hostile to the gospel of Jesus Christ. They said many there are
hearing the Word of God and placing their faith in Jesus Christ, knowing they are surrendering all and putting
their very lives in danger. Yet these new believers are quickly becoming bold witnesses and leaders in the underground churches.
Now Christ Jesus has come
to show us the kindness of God.
Christ our Savior
defeated death and brought us the good news.
defeated death and brought us the good news.
It shines like a light
and offers life that never ends.
and offers life that never ends.
2 Timothy 1:10

Nothing
NOTHING can separate
Even if I ran away
Your love never fails
I know I still make mistakes
But You have new mercies for me everyday
Your love never fails
You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There maybe pain in the nightbut joy comes in the morning
And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me
Your love never fails
The wind is strong and the water's deep
But I'm not alone in these open seas
Cause Your love never fails
The chasm is far too wide
I never thought I'd reach the other side
But Your love never fails

Ready
Do you not say,
It is still four months until harvest time comes?
Look! I tell you,
raise your eyes and observe the fields
and see how they are already white for harvesting.
