The Reservation at Cherokee, North Carolina, was a nice day trip from Atlanta when Carl and Kathren were small. Our kids were all eyes in the souvenir shop that afternoon, until a Native American, dressed as a warrior approached them to say hello.
My daughter burst into tears and clung to my leg. The young man knelt down and pulled out his wallet and showed her school photos of his own children. He kept talking calmly to her, assuring her that he was not scary, that he was a daddy just like her own daddy. They soon parted ways, with her smiling and waving.
I sometimes get a little homesick since I moved one month ago. Then I meet people from all over the US and the world here and think about how strange everything must seem to them. This week I made a friend from Nigeria, one from Sri Lanka, one from Korea, and yes, even from Louisville and Indianapolis! But as we met for lunch and prayer, we had so much in common because we all love the Lord.

What a compassionate man. Truly we are one in the Lord.
Hello Karen, I liked how this man took the time to help her see there was no danger of him hurting her, but rather playing a part.
We are all so very much alike in many ways, yet so different!
We all can feel like we are in a strange place even in our Hometowns.
I am so glad you are embracing this new season of your life.
Blessings, Roxy
What a beautiful experience that you met the Lord.
I'm glad that you could figure out.
Blessing to you dear friend.
Nice to read updates from you. Good to know that you are making friends:)
Sweet, sweet post.
It is surprising what a difference it can make to someone when another takes the time to be kind to them and make them feel welcome.
