When I was a college student, I received invitations to many weddings of my friends. One of my favorite memories is a wedding supper that was at my favorite Atlanta restaurant. We were escorted into the banquet room, where the tables were set with white linen and beautiful china. Roses and candles adorned each table. Beside my plate was a card with my name hand-lettered in calligraphy.
Jesus assures us that He would love for us to join Him at the marriage supper of the Lamb. If we have put our trust in Him as Savior, our place is set. Our seat is reserved.
Jesus said:
"I say to you that many will come
from the east and the
west
and will take their places at the feast
with Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob
in the kingdom of Heaven."
Matthew 8:11

My family is invited to a wedding tomorrow. It will be a big event on the small island I live on; lots of people, food, speeches etc. I know that at some point my mind will wander to a very different marriage celebration. :)
I imagine that will be an amazing feast!!
Beautiful post, Karen. Two wonderful suppers- the Earthly one and the Heavenly one- xo Diana
Beautifully written - thank you!
I am looking forward to that celebration!
A beautiful table setting, Karen! I'm sure the table we will one day be seated at is even more beautiful! Thanks for this reflection, with our new year about to begin!
I look forward to that day
Blessings and love to you.
Thank you for the reminder of how grand that celebration will be. Wow, if we have such grand tables and settings here, just imagine what it will be like at that banquet of all banquets.
Blessings,
Charlotte
