An Invitation

My heart has heard you say,
“Come and talk with me.”
    And my heart responds,
Lord, I am coming.”
Psalm 27:8 NLT

Jesus said:
“Look! I stand at the door and knock.
If you hear my voice and open the door,
I will come in,
and we will share a meal together as friends.
Revelation 3:20

A Perfect Storm

This was posted by Kathie Walters on Elijah List in 2012. I think it is timely for many believers today.

Kathie WaltersJust recently, I have felt like I was on top of a huge swell of water, in the middle of the ocean. It was very scary, but I wasn't scared. God told me to post this to the intercessors: "GOD IS CREATING THE PERFECT STORM." The storm will bring the things you have prayed and God is setting it up.

Maybe you are experiencing a storm in your personal life or family. But you know Jesus was in a bad storm one time. You know what though? He went to sleep.

I am not suggesting you bury your head in the sand (water), but you can be CALM because Jesus said, "Peace, be still!" (Mark 4:39). Well, He is in you, and you can speak to your own heart, "Peace, be still." Because you are not alone in your boat and you are not alone in your storm.

You can ride out the storm if you put your trust in HIM – the Lord Jesus. It may look rough out there but, if you chill and get your eyes back on the Creator, He will make the storm work. You can have PEACE and joy even when the waves are high. You can ride the waves.

You are in the One who has peace so you can "speak your peace" and His faith is in you already. To everyone is given the "measure of faith." It doesn't jump in and out of you – just believe it and your supernatural faith will manifest.

Remember when Paul and Silas were in prison – they were in the inner prison. That was a prison inside a prison, with their feet fast in the stocks. They didn't whine and complain, instead they SANG PRAISES TO GOD.

The prison couldn't contain it and the whole place began to rock and roll with an earthquake. The doors flung open and prisoners looked like they were going to take off. The prison guard was going to kill himself – how was he going to answer for this?

But Paul and Silas ministered to the jailor in the middle of an earthquake. I would imagine in a scary situation like that you have a mindset like "Run for your life." But Paul and Silas were able to minister to him and keep everyone safe. They were in the middle of a shaking, but they weren't shaken. BECAUSE THEY WERE IN THE SHAKER (GOD). If you stay in the Shaker (or Wave maker), then you won't be shaken. Because inside the Shaker there is PEACE and FAITH.

I speak peace and agree with you that in the storm: "Peace, be still!" Release the faith that is already in you.

Your perfect storm will bring your answers if you believe. You can have an adventure if God is making changes in your life. Don't be afraid – He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Jesus Said

I am leaving you with a gift—
peace of mind and heart.
And the peace I give
is a gift the world cannot give.
So don't be troubled or afraid.

Sweet Incense

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense;
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Psalm 141:2

What is God's response to His children's prayers? As our petitions and praises rise like sweet perfume, He blesses us with righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Spring Break

I had the grandchildren every day this past week. I wanted to use some of the time I had with them to make the Bible come alive. I remembered some object lessons from my childhood.

The eyes of the LORD
search the whole earth
in order to strengthen those
whose hearts are fully committed to him.

We took eggs and drew eyes on them, and read the passage from 2 Chronicles, where the prophet tells the king (Nana's paraphrase): You don't need to join the bullies and bad guys to survive. Your God watches over you and delights in coming to your aid when you look to Him for help. But when you sell out to the evil around you, you are on your own, and you will constantly have trouble.

Another day, we read John 14, and we placed three graduated size plastic eggs within each other to visualize Jesus' promise to believers:

When I am raised to life again,
you will know that I am in my Father,
and you are in me,
and I am in you.
John 14:20
