God's Gift of Grace

God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!
Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— not from works, so that no one can boast.

"Perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes

That moment from Jesus a pardon receives."

Fanny Crosby (1820-1915)

Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
Micah 7:18

I met a lady in a store and we were looking at stuffed animals. We got to talking about our children, and she also had a young child who had died. Suddenly she asked me, "How can I know that I will see my child again in Heaven?"

The Holy Spirit brought to my mind the account of the repentant thief on the cross next to Jesus. (Luke 23:43) He did not do anything to earn eternal life. It was a free gift just because he believed in Jesus' promise of forgiveness.

Thank You, Jesus, for pardoning me!

19 years ago

My  son died in January, 19 years ago, from severe heart problems. He was three years old, but never able to walk or crawl.

I dreamed recently that I saw Caleb in Heaven. Those of you who have loved ones with special needs will understand how special this dream was to me.

I saw him (as he was at age 3 years) sitting in the floor playing with his ball. Then Jesus said to him, "Show Mommy what you can do!" He gave me a big grin and hopped to his feet and began to run and play.

My son Cameron (now 28)  recently said to me, "In Heaven the Bible says we will be given a new name. I believe God has created a unique song from the name He will give us that He will sing over us the first time we see Him face to face."

We will see Him face to face
And tell the story "saved by grace"!

AHA! moment

As I was reading Proverbs 3:5-6. I wondered what it means to "in all your ways acknowledge God".
I thought about how I love to send cards to loved ones who live out of state, and how much it thrills and encourages me when they let me know they received them and liked them. It makes me look forward to sending more!

I thought that maybe our Heavenly Father is also blessed when I notice all the good things that come my way, and stop to give Him thanks!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17

Not to Worry

God's word tells us not to worry. You try to stop worrying, but you keep thinking about it. Someone will say worry is a sin; you don't have any faith. Then you become more worried. Before you... just worried about paying the bills, now you're worried about paying the bills and going to hell. How do you stop worrying? If the problem causes you to worry, what is the antidote?

The antidote is the answer. Don't dwell on the problem, but dwell on the answer.

You have to choose to stop thinking about those things that take away your peace and joy. Start dwelling on the answer that gives you peace and joy; on the good news, the Word, the Good Shepherd who's in charge of your life and who loves you, on the Gospel, on Messiah, on God.

Whenever you're getting caught up in worry, let that be your cue to start getting caught up in God - the Gospel, His joy, His faithfulness, His love. Philippians 4:8 reads, "Let your mind dwell on these things, and the peace of God will guard your heart and mind, and take away your worry."
From Message #812 - The Immanuel Solution - JONATHAN CAHN

Today's Mission: Today, let God do the heavy lifting and let God take the burden from you, so you can dwell on His peace, He is the answer.

Facing Forward

Jesus called the unbelieving leaders of his day "stiffnecked". Maybe they got a crick in their neck from looking backwards. "We've never done it this way before!"

All the time, Jesus Messiah, who is the first and the last, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, was standing right in front of them.

I confess that I often look back and wish things had worked out differently in my life. There were mistakes, disappointments and setbacks I wish had been avoided. I cannot fix the past, but God can redeem the past and use me for His glory even now....especially now!

Psalm 25:5
Show me Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day
