Missing the Grandkids
I am enjoying my new home here in KC, but I do miss the grandkids so much. They keep in touch by email and cell phone. The little one is in preschool this year. She wanted me to know that she got to be the "main monkey" in her class for a day. (That is what we used to call teacher's helper.)
I had to send her this pic of the monkey that stands beside the highway near us inviting people to the fireworks store. (Mildred, do I recall my brother-in-law having some pants just like these =)

Trust and Obey
0 God, teach me lessons for living
so I can stay the course.
Give me insight so I can do what you tell me—
my whole life one long, obedient response.
Psalm 119:33 Message
I think the older I get, the more I realize that life is about the little things. Doing some small thing for others that will never make headlines or even be acknowledged. Sometimes, I think God is whispering to me, do this, or do that, and I argue, "Oh, what does it matter", or "Somebody else will do it."
Like last night - I went to a fellowship dinner and I noticed there was a puddle of water spilled in the tile hallway. There was that small voice that said, "You wipe it up." This time I listened.
The next person that entered the door was a man who is totally blind walking with his cane.
Made me think about how the Lord has put it in so many people's hearts to show kindness to me!
Lord,
Help me to trust Your voice and obey.
I've had this song on my mind lately:

Just Ducky
When I visited the park earlier this week, I enjoyed watching the faces of the children watching the ducks!
There were artists with their easels beside the lake, and familes picnicking in the shade. A beautiful day.

Union Station KC
We were amazed at all the exhibits at Union Station in Kansas City. There was a Pirate Exhibit and a model train exhibit that exceeded any I've ever seen. Cameron said, "I would have LOVED all this when I was five!"
Here is the fountain out in front of Union Station.
Here is the interior that greeted us as we entered.
This is the exterior. Notice the" pirate" climbing up the rope!
And here is the life-size pirate ship out front.

Labor Day Outing
My son treated me to a tour of downtown Kansas City today. It was a beautiful day, slightly cooler. We saw some of the famous fountains, but there was no place to park to get pictures of some of them. One of the many beautiful sites was the Jacob L. Loose Memorial Garden. Here is just a sample of what we saw.
