Fragrance Favorites

 Yardley Soap Ad:
"The soap that’s kept women in hot water for 200 years—
and they’ve loved every minute."

Now that my granddaughters are teens, I was thinking about the fragrances I loved when I was their age. I usually got perfumed soaps, lotions, and dusting powder for presents from my grandmothers.

I also loved White Shoulders, Blue Grass by Elizabeth Arden, and Nina Ricci L'Air du Temps.

Do you have a favorite fragrance?

Oh MY! Your header nearly took my breath away!!! It looks like a pink carnation. As a teenager and young woman, I LOVED Yardley Lavender soap!!! I still love lavender now, and that is what my liquid hand soaps are. It is probably my favorite scent. I like fruit scents, too.

I have always loved the smell of Yardley Lavender soap. I had a boy friend who gave me Ralph Lauren perfume during college years that had a nice fragrance. These days, most everything I buy is perfume free! lol

Sounds like all our friends here are agreeing: Yardley Lavender Soap for me! I put bars of the soap (in their boxes) in my dresser drawers to scent my lingerie. I keep bars of it also in the shelves where my towels and linens are. Love that smell...so calming and refreshing. I cannot tolerate strong scents like the modern perfumes and scents that so many wear, including men's. Do not like musky smells at all. Lavender and roses are my favorite of all.

my favorite cologne ever was White Shoulders, mother loved Charlie which I hated. the problem is in my aged years I am now allergic to all scents like these.

I prefer woodsy fragrances.....my favorite is Obsession....has been for a long time. Back years ago, I liked Chanel #5, but really dont wear much perfumes now. Do love the Yardley soaps tho!

I think I remember Yardley made a carnation scented soap and rose, too.

You know, I never was one much for wearing fragrance. I suppose it was all those years of working as a nurse and not be able to wear it I do have to confess though that as far as lotions - lavender is my favorite. I also like the eucalytpus mint that Bath and Body makes.

Hello Karen, I noticed your beautiful blog (such a lovely name!) in the Red Rose Alley blogroll.
The soap looks delicious. :) I love everything with lavender, grapefruit and/or green tea. The Italian L'Erbolario makes for example lavender perfumed talc, one of my favourites.
Have a blessed Sunday!

Oh, I remember White Shoulders. That's one of the few perfumes I liked. I don't wear fragrances any more, but I love the pretty bottles. How nice that you remember getting perfumed soaps from your grandmothers.

Happy Mother's Day, Karen. Have a nice and restful weekend.

I used to love Yardley. Now I buy homemade goat soap or berries and cream homemade soap. No harsh ingredients. How we change as we age. lol... Have a happy moms day. Hugs, LJ

I don't have a favorite fragrance...a lot I like, but I don't want to smell them all the time. I did not realize who made Blue Grass...I have walked in a store and someone had it on a time or two in the past couple of years and I was instant a kid again. I didn't wear it a lot or anything but I had a little bottle of it.
