If I am afraid to speak the truth lest I lose affection,
or lest the one concerned should say
"You do not understand",
or because I fear to lose my reputation for kindness, or
if I put my own good name before the other's highest good,
then I know nothing of Calvary love.
I have been listening to Elisabeth Elliot on youtube, and she quoted this poem by that had influenced her life. I have been guilty of backing down when I should have stood my ground, or nodding in agreement when I should have argued my case. So this poem really spoke to me.
