Days of Yore

While visiting the library this morning, I heard a young Mother explaining to her child about the olden days. I suddenly realized that I had grown up in the "olden days". I learned to type on a manual typewriter.
Hand held calculators were not even invented
until after I graduated from high school!

I also learned to type on a manual typewriter, Karen, and I can still hear the tap tap tap sound of the keys in my head. I sure miss the "olden days." There's a lot of good things to be said about them. :)

I saw a bumper sticker today that said, "what if the Hokey Pokey is what it's all about??" lol

Me too. We really thought we were something being able to type. And really, when you stop to think about it, it was an accomplishment to type with those things and not get the keys all stick together!

I remember how hard it was for me to get used to an electric typewriter! I was working at Sears in Atlanta. Remember when we had to know ABC order to file paperwork!

Me too! I typed my term paper on a typewriter. Not even an electric one. Hand held calculators were not on the market until I was married.
