Be Reconciled

Dodge Ball, Flies and Grounders, Red Rover, Hide-and-Seek, Freeze Tag.

As kids, living in a small town, we usually had a gang of neighbors playing in our shady yard. As you can imagine, we had serious differences of opinion about how to play the games and who the winner was!

"We're not playing with you any more!"  We heard more than once, but usually before our friends made it to their front door, we had worked things out, and soon we were playing again.

If only it were that easy to reconcile when we get to be adults! We end up paying lawyers to mediate our differences.

Thank God that He is in the business of  reconciliation! He sent His Son, Jesus, to be the Mediator between man and God.

God's purpose is that all men should be saved and come to realize the truth. And that is, that there is only one God, and only one intermediary between God and men, Jesus Christ the man. He gave himself as a ransom for us all, an act of redemption which happened once, but which stands for all times as a witness to what he is.

Amen! Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone could be reconciled to each other! I guess that would be heaven on earth, though.

This is a topic I have been thinking about a lot lately. God's grace and forgiveness is transforming, yet so often I find I am stuck in this world of dealing with issues in a godless way , obviously because many do not claim Him as savior and the secular rules. We know He rules and our eternity will be with Him, but sometimes the earthly way of dealing with ( or without ) reconciliation is more often painful and heart-breaking. That's why I seek God's wisdom & discernment for it.
