Sunrise - Sunset

Lord Jesus,
From where the sun rises to where it sets,
    You inspire shouts of joy.

My praise for today based on
Psalm 65:8a NLT

My granddaughter and I just read Pollyanna (by Eleanor Porter). You may remember the book from childhood and how, before she became an orphan, Pollyanna's Dad had taught her to play the "glad game". She got into the habit of looking for something to be thankful for in every situation.

In Genesis 29, we read the story of Jacob, who was tricked by his uncle into marrying Leah. Leah finally decided that she would praise the Lord in spite of her husband's lack of love for her. She named her fourth child Judah, which means praise. Our Savior was a descendant of Judah.

We will never fully realize in this lifetime, how many ways God has blessed and protected us, and how our lives will bless future generations.

Amen! I do love that story and the precept that "Godliness and contentment are great gain" comes to mind.
I also read recently this take on the "half full" concept: we can view the "glass" of our lives as ALL full...for though it may only have 50% liquid in it, it also has 50% air!
