Be Still

Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

I am saddened to read of many Christians throughout the world who are suffering because of their faith in God. Missionaries who spent all they had on Bibles to take to nations who have never heard of Jesus, were captured by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. They were carrying out Jesus' mandate to go to all the world and make disciples.

Jesus said: Then they will hand you over for persecution,
and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name. Then many will take offense, betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered. This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come. Matthew 24:9-14

Father God, You alone are our refuge and our strength. May we trust in You in these troubled times.

This is a beautiful song, an encouraging and restful song. It is heart-breaking to hear such news about those bringing the Good News being captured and worse...even though Jesus said that we should expect such things, it is still painful and heartbreaking.

Dear Karen
Thank you for taking time to visit my blog place, and leaving a kind comment. I appreciate your having stayed a while.

Visited two of your blogs this morning, Nana Stories, and this one. This story strikes me - the truth is that when we carry out kingdom work for our King we are on a dangerous mission, prime target for Enemy attacks. These two songs have been favorites of mine, and I was delighted to find them here!

You have such a peaceful spirit on your blog. Being here at 4:00 a.m. has given opportunity for my spirit to be fed. Thank you, Karen, for sharing your heart.

Blessings,
Lidj

It is for sure a mean world in which we live. Praise God and our only consolation to endure is the Cross. Blessings, Mollye

Beautiful song and video...He alone is our Hiding Place.

And I pray for those who were captured by the pirates to be rescued soon...may God show Himself strong on their behalf!
